Introduction to S960Q Alloy Structural Steel

S960Q is a European standard quenched and tempered high yield strength structural steel, S stands for structural steel, Q stands for delivery terms, and 960 is the yield value, in MPa. S960Q adopts controlled rolling technology, and it can be seen from the chemical composition of the steel plate that the content of harmful elements S and P is relatively low, indicating that its steel quality is pure and the welding performance is good. S960Q Steel Plate Implementation Standard: EN 10025
The steel specified in EN 10025-6 depends not only on the material but also on the size, shape and use conditions of the manufacturing and components for different welding processes and steel welding behaviors, so there is no infinite suitability for weldability.
The general requirements for steel arc welding specified in the standard are
noted in EN 1011-2: Together with the increased thickness and strength class of the product, cold cracking may occur, which is caused by a combination of the following factors: A, the amount of diffused hydrogen in the welded metal B, the brittle structure
in the heat-affected zone C, and the concentration of a large number of tensile stresses at the
weld joint
