F100 test material

101 submitted for acceptance test all materials in a test group should have the same product category, such as plates, flat steel, profiles, etc. These materials should come from the same tank number and be in the same supply condition.

The specimen should be an exact representation of the material. If possible, the specimen should be intercepted after heat treatment.

Specimens must not be heat treated separately in any way.

DNV Det Norske Veritas certified steel grades:

Class A: NVA420, NVA460, NVA500, NVA550, NVA620, NVA690

Class D: NVD420, NVD460, NVD500, NVD550, NVD620, NVD690

Class E: NVE420, NVE460, NVE500, NVE550, NVE620, NVE690

102 Unless otherwise agreed, tensile test and impact test specimens should be taken from the following locations;

- Plates and flat bars with a width of 600 mm: The

specimen should be cut from one end about halfway between the axis and the edge in the rolling direction (see Fig. 4a). Unless otherwise agreed, the longitudinal axis of the tensile specimen is perpendicular to the direction of final rolling.

- Flat bars, ball bars and other profiles with a width of 600 mm: The specimen should be intercepted from one end about one-third of the way from the outer edge (see Figures 4b, 4c, 4d and 4e). For small profiles

, they should be cut as close as possible to the above positions. In the case of channels, beams or spherical flat steels, the specimen can be intercepted accordingly from approximately a quarter of the width from the centerline or axis of the web (see Fig. 4d). The longitudinal axis of the tensile specimen is parallel or perpendicular to the direction of final rolling. For small profiles, the tensile specimen can have a full profile section for the appropriate length.

- Round bars and other similar products: Specimens

should be taken so that the longitudinal axis of the specimen is parallel to the rolling direction and as close as possible to the following positions:

- For non-circular cross-section bars, the specimen is cut on a semi-diagonal from the outer third (see Fig. 4e).

- For round-section bars, the specimen is cut at the upper half of the warp at the outer third of the distance (see Fig. 4f).

103. The thickness direction performance test specimen shall be approved by the company.
