The thickness, width, and length tolerances of A656, 60 grade plates conform to ASTM A6. ASTM A6 standard flatness tolerances apply to all sheet thicknesses.

The thickness, width, and length tolerances of A656, 60 grade plates conform to ASTM A6. ASTM A6 semi-standard flatness tolerances or better can be used for leveling plates. The flatness capability is determined by the minimum yield strength of the processing line and the material.

For minimum specification orders, thickness and width tolerances conform to the appropriate ASTM specifications, with A568 thicknesses less than 0.230 inches (exclusive) and A635 thicknesses ranging from 0.230 inches to 1.00 inches inclusive. Thickness tolerances conform to Table S1.1 in each ASTM specification for A635 and A568, for thickness. The width tolerances conform to Table 6 of ASTM A568 and Table 3 of ASTM A635.
