American Standard A514GrF is a high-strength weldable steel plate quenched and tempered under the ASTM standard, which is mainly used in places that require high tensile strength and high yield, such as lifting gears for engineering vehicles, large excavators, and racks for offshore platforms. The hardness is between 235-290, the yield > is 630MPa, and the tensile strength is above 700MPa.

This product has ended the long-term dependence on imports of A514GrQ steel plate for offshore oil production platforms in China.

The A517GrF steel plate should be heat treated: in a quenched and tempered state, the steel plate should be heated to no less than 900 °C, quenched in water or oil, and tempered at no less than 620 °C.
