On January 22, Wugang Co., Ltd. of HBIS Group successfully won the bid for two 24,000 cubic meter ethane/ethylene carrier manufacturing projects invested by a shipowner in Singapore, and 4,000 tons of "Wugang brand" 5Ni steel plate will be used for the manufacture of key parts of the ship.

5Ni steel is an important variety of Wugang nickel steel, with ultra-high low temperature impact performance, widely used in liquefied ethylene, ethane transportation and storage device production, and has passed the certification of 6 mainstream classification societies in China, the United States, Italy, etc. The maximum thickness of Wugang 5Ni steel plate through the technical review organized by the Tolerance Committee reaches 60mm, which is the thickest in China.
It is understood that the two latest 24,000 cubic meter ethane/ethylene carriers invested by Singapore shipowners will be built in accordance with industry-leading specifications, with higher cargo capacity, which can significantly reduce energy consumption, and will be equipped with exhaust gas purification systems and shaft generators, which will become a new benchmark in the industry in terms of quality and performance after completion.
